Deep Sky, a Canadian carbon removal project developer, has partnered with Carbon Atlantis, a German DAC company, to implement carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology in Canada.
Through the partnership, Carbon Atlantis will provide a DAC unit for Deep Sky's pilot project in Quebec slated for completion in 2025 to absorb 260 tons of CO2 annually. Then, Deep Sky would compress and liquify the captured CO2 for transportation and storage.
The partners will assess the performance and energy consumption of the DAC unit to validate Carbon Atlantis’ technology for commercial deployment in Canada.
