VivaCity partners with Transport for West Midlands to improve West Midlands road safety

Partnerships

  • VivaCity, a UK-based traffic flow management solutions provider, announced a strategic partnership with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) to enhance road safety in the West Midlands.

  • This collaboration is the first of its kind with a UK road safety solutions operator. It involves upgrading 32 existing sensors across local authorities to include VivaCity’s Near Miss feature, which analyzes object speed and path data to estimate the likelihood of collisions between road users.

  • The project consists of two phases: monitoring insights from Near Miss data over six to 12 months and using these insights to determine future locations for upgraded sensors. The collaboration aims to diagnose the root causes of collisions, provide insights into why they occur, and recommend solutions to prevent future incidents.
