C-Capture, a British carbon capture startup, has started the first carbon capture trial in Europe at Pilkington UK's flat glass manufacturing plant. The trial aims to validate the company’s proprietary solvent-based technology to capture CO2 from flue gas.
This is part of the company’s XLR8 CCS (carbon capture and storage) project which is aimed at demonstrating carbon capture as a feasible low-cost solution for high-emitting industries.
The company expects to expand its trials to the cement and energy-from-waste industries. C-Capture also aims to start its own carbon capture facility in 2024.
