NIO, an NYSE-listed Chinese EV manufacturer, has entered a share subscription agreement with CYVN Holdings. The latter intends to invest an aggregate of USD 2.2 billion in cash to subscribe for 294,000,000 newly issued Class A ordinary shares at a per share purchase price of USD 7.50. NIO intends to invest the funds in core technologies and system capabilities
Prior to this, in July 2023 , NIO received a USD 738.5 million strategic equity investment from CYVN. The company also acquired NIO’s Class A ordinary shares from an affiliate of Tencent Holdings for an aggregate consideration of USD 350 million. Following the completion of the latest investment, CYVN will own approximately 20.1% of NIO’s total issued and outstanding shares.
NIO and CYVN aim to continue jointly pursuing strategic and technology collaborations in international markets.
