Group14 Technologies, a developer of silicon-carbon composite materials as an alternative to the graphite used in lithium-ion batteries, has partnered with Enovix Corporation, a silicon battery manufacturer, to utilize the former's silicon-carbon composite, SCC55, in silicon battery production.
The partners aim to make 100% of the anode material of Enovix’s battery architecture using Group14’s composite material. They expect to enhance the energy density, capacity, and charging speed of the batteries.
In addition, the companies will collaborate on improving the performance and efficiency of lithium-ion silicon batteries.
