Mush Foods raises USD 6.2 million in seed funding to support foodservice launch of 50CUT

Funding

  • Mush Foods, a food tech startup specializing in mushroom mycelium production, has raised USD 6.2 million in seed financing in 2023. Viola Ventures led the funding round, with participation from TKH, Siddhi Capital, Milk & Honey Ventures, and ARC IMPACT Ventures.

  • The new funds will support the company's entry into the market and the launch of its 50CUT product, a line of mushroom root blends, for the foodservice industry.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The 50CUT product consists of three edible mushroom mycelium species and is intended for use in hybrid meat applications, reducing the animal protein content by 50%. Further, 50CUT claims to be free from binders, additives, or flavorings, making it a clean-label ingredient.
