NineDot Energy, a developer of clean energy solutions to provide smart energy storage services, has secured USD 225 million as equity capital in a funding round led by Manulife Investment Management, with participation from existing investor Carlyle. This brings the company's total funding to USD 336.2 million.
The funding will be utilized for NineDot’s projects in the metropolitan region of New York City. Furthermore, it will support the company’s geographical expansion and acquisition growth.
Through the funding round, Manulife Investment Management acquired an equity interest with a contribution of USD 135 million. In addition, the investor’s representative, Christopher McKenzie, a managing director on Manulife Investment Management’s Infrastructure team, will be part of NineDot’s board of directors.
