Circulor, a British blockchain-based SaaS solution to trace sustainability within supply chains, has partnered with Automotive Cells Company (ACC), a joint venture (JV) between Stellantis, TotalEnergies, and Mercedes-Benz Group, to assess the carbon emissions of EV batteries.
Circular aims to verify the origins and embedded CO2 emissions of the raw materials used by ACC for EV battery cells.
The partnership expects to determine the carbon footprint of the EV batteries to comply with the “battery passport” requirements established in Europe starting in 2024.
ACC will also prepare to meet a CO2 emissions limit and the disclosure of recycled raw materials from 2027 through this partnership.
