Enerpoly, a Swedish startup developing zinc-ion batteries for stationary energy storage, has secured SEK 88.5 million (~USD 8.4 million) in grant funding from the Swedish Energy Agency. This brings the company's total funding to USD 13.9 million.
This three-year grant serves as the initial step toward financing its production facility, with further private capital expected to be raised via a Series A funding round.
Enerpoly intends to use the granted funds to construct the world’s first mega factory for manufacturing zinc-ion batteries, called the Enerpoly Production Innovation Center (EPIC), over the next three years. The facility is projected to have an annual capacity throughput of 100 MWh.
