AddUp to introduce new tool steel for AM applications

Product updates

  • AddUp, a provider of metal additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, in collaboration with Swiss Steel Group, has announced plans to introduce Printdur HCT, a tool steel used specifically for injection molding applications.

  • Printdur HCT is manufactured focusing on powder bed fusion machines like AddUp’s FormUp 350. Additionally, the product is wear- and corrosion-resistant and reduces production cycles using conformal cooling channels. The company claims the density of the material is over 99.90%, compared to standard material.

  • The product also offers a hardness range of 53-57 HRC to extend the service life of mold inserts. Moreover, the manufacturing does not involve nickel or cobalt, facilitating a safer and environmentally friendly production process.
