Dimensional Energy, a solar-to-fuel startup utilizing CO2, has raised USD 20 million in a Series A financing round led by Envisioning Partners. Apart from the round, the company also received third-party project financing. This brings the company's total funding to USD 28.7 million.
The round was supplemented by participation from the United Airlines' Sustainable Flight Fund, Microsoft's Climate Innovation Fund, RockCreek Group’s Smart Aviation Futures fund, DSC Investment, Delek US, New York Ventures, Elemental Excelerator, and Chloe Capital.
The company expects to utilize the funding to construct the world’s first advanced power-to-liquid (PtL) fuels plant in partnership with Svante in Canada. Dimensional Energy also intends to scale the production of its PtL facility in New York to 200 barrels of fuel per day.
In addition, the company launched its first consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) products, such as fossil-free surf wax and a fat alternative for vegan food manufacturers. Following the funding round, Dimensional Energy announced that it has filed for the Delaware Public Benefit Corporation Charter to become a certified B Corporation.
