AR glasses manufacturer Xreal raised USD 60 million in funding, with investor participation remaining undisclosed. The latest funding round brings the company's total funding to over USD 300 million.
The fresh capital will be primarily utilized for research and development and a potential expansion of Xreal's manufacturing facilities. The funding will allow scaling up its AR glass production to two million units by next year, compared to its current 500,000 to one million units a year.
Analyst QuickTake: AR devices have seen renewed interest from investors, possibly aided by the upcoming launch of the Apple Vision Pro, which is focused on spatial computing capabilities. Xreal competitor Rokid raised USD 71 million earlier this month, followed by its USD 112 million Series C round in November 2023, which propelled the company to unicorn status.
