Grabango, an automated checkout software provider, has partnered with the grocery chain Aldi to install an automated checkout system at an Aldi store in Chicago, Illinois.
The technology employs overhead cameras and sensors to track customers' purchases. To use the system, customers download the Grabango app, select a credit card for payment, and finalize their transactions at a designated kiosk.
The automated checkout system named “Aldi Go,” uses a mobile app, computer vision-based cameras, and ceiling-mounted sensors to enable customers to enter a store, pick up their purchases, and exit the store to complete the purchase process.
