Grabango partners with Aldi to install automated checkout system at Chicago store

Partnerships

  • Grabango, an automated checkout software provider, has partnered with the grocery chain Aldi to install an automated checkout system at an Aldi store in Chicago, Illinois.

  • The technology employs overhead cameras and sensors to track customers' purchases. To use the system, customers download the Grabango app, select a credit card for payment, and finalize their transactions at a designated kiosk.

  • The automated checkout system named “Aldi Go,” uses a mobile app, computer vision-based cameras, and ceiling-mounted sensors to enable customers to enter a store, pick up their purchases, and exit the store to complete the purchase process.
