Avnos, a hybrid direct air capture (HDAC) firm, raised USD 36 million in a Series A funding round led by NextEra Energy Resources. The round was also supported by Safran Corporate Ventures, Shell Ventures, Rusheen Capital Management, and Envisioning Partners. This brings the company's total funding to USD 116 million.
The capital raised will be used to expand the Avnos team, deploy additional HDAC units in North America and Europe, and open a new 20,000 square feet R&D facility outside of New York City, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of this month.
