Neutral-atom quantum computing company QuEra has been assigned to construct the world's most advanced quantum computing testbed by the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) in the UK. The project will be funded by the NQCC, supported by the Small Business Research Initiative. The high-tech testing environment is expected to be fully operational by 2025.
QuEra’s testbed facility is designed to use ‘logical qubits’ in order to detect and correct errors common in quantum calculations. Its standout features include qubit shuttling (helps preserve the quantum state and allows the entanglement of neighboring qubits) and the ability to coherently transport groups of atoms.
