Call2Recycle launches smart battery recycling containers in Canada

Product updates

  • Call2Recycle, a Canadian e-bike and household battery recycling company, has unveiled a new container under its consumer brand, "Recycle Your Batteries, Canada!" The containers are claimed to facilitate better collection and recycling of batteries by minimizing risk and enhancing operational efficiency.

  • The enhanced safety measures include remote temperature monitoring capabilities and fill level sensors to notify when the container requires a pick-up. Using these containers is also expected to raise public education and awareness about battery recycling. The company plans to have the containers accessible to the public by placing them in locations across Canada beginning February 2024.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The company previously partnered with Longo to facilitate the retail chain’s recycling program in September 2023. Call2Recycle now makes it even more convenient for consumers to recycle batteries, potentially translating to higher volumes it is well-positioned to deal with, building on its strategic partnerships with Ascend Elements to refine battery recycling logistics and Electronic Distributors International Inc . to increase the sorting capacity of end-of-life batteries in Ontario.
