CloudTrucks, an online freight matching platform, has acquired the brokerage arm of cloud-based software provider Shipwell to provide more frequent loads for CloudTrucks' network of drivers.
CloudTrucks has leveraged the technology from Shipwell’s brokerage arm to launch a new offering for its carrier users, “CT Exchange," which enables the company to receive a portion of freight directly from shippers, which can be allocated to the company’s internal driver base, ensuring more frequent loads for the driver network. CloudTrucks claims that the program ensures mileage-based revenue guarantees.
Following the sale of its brokerage arm, Shipwell plans to reallocate its focus to the company’s SaaS offering.
