Itero Technologies, a UK-based plastic recycling technology provider, has received an EU grant of EUR 5 million (~USD 5.4 million) from the Just Transition Fund (JTF).
The funds will be utilized to build Itero's first demonstration plant for its patented pyrolysis technology at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus in the Netherlands. The demonstration plant is set to convert 27,000 tonnes of mixed plastic waste per year.
Analyst QuickTake: Itero raised USD 6.1 million in a venture round led by Infinity Recycling in July 2022 and USD 256,000 in grant funding from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency in October 2022 to fund the construction of its demonstration plant. The plant is Itero’s first demonstration plant for its pyrolysis technology, which is due to come online in the second half of 2025 and complements the work of its UK R&D facility.
