Infinite Roots (formerly MushLabs), a German alternative ingredient producer, has partnered with South Korean food manufacturer Pulmuone to develop and distribute alternative protein products in South Korea.
Through this partnership, the companies will conduct customer research and trial runs in select South Korean distribution outlets and develop a variety of meat substitute items to meet the tastes and preferences of South Korean consumers.
Analyst QuickTake: In January this year, Infinite Roots raised EUR 58 million (~USD 63 million) in Series B funding for capacity expansion and global launch efforts. The partnership with Pulmuone, an avid supporter and investor in the alternative protein space, marks Infinite Roots’ first international collaboration. With plans to expand this partnership further after the test phase and Pulmuone’s focus on the US alternative meats sector, the company can have potential opportunities to increase its global footprint.
