DPVR announces new cooling and audio systems for E4 PC VR headset

Product updates

  • DPVR, a Chinese VR headset manufacturer, announced a major update for its E4 PC VR headset model. The update aims to incorporate new cooling technology, enhanced audio, and improved comfort features based on user feedback.

  • The updated headset now includes a "Turbo Cooling System" with vents on both sides of the headset for better airflow, improved stereo speakers for enhanced bass and reduced distortion, a renovated headphone port, including wired headphones, and a more durable six-meter DP cable with a detachable end for a stable connection to the PC. Additionally, it has been adapted to fit the head circumference of kids ranging from 53 cm to 66 cm, with a new Velcro closure on the headband and a magnetic fabric face pad for a secure fit.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The hardware upgrades to the headset were likely done to keep in line with industry standards, given that the DPVR E4 was launched over a year ago, in November 2022 . Before the E4 launch, the company focused on manufacturing headsets for the B2B market. However, it now has products in both segments, such as the E4C headset targeting the VR arcade industry ( October 2023 ) and the P2 headset for the EdTech industry ( September 2023 ).
