Singapore approves selling cell-cultured meat

  • Singapore Food Agency has approved Eat JUST’s cell-cultured chicken for sale in the country, making history by becoming the first-ever country to grant such approval. The agency announced that the cell-cultured chicken made by Eat JUST met its safety standards for use in nuggets.

  • Eat JUST is expected to debut the cell-cultured chicken under its “GOOD Meat” brand as a chicken nugget in a single restaurant.

  • The startup has been working with the Singapore Food Agency to gain approval for nearly two years; demonstrating a consistent manufacturing process for cell-cultured chicken and meeting safety and quality standards.

  • Eat JUST produces its cell-cultured chicken using stem cells extracted from chicken feathers grown inside a bioreactor.
