Spinnova, a Finnish sustainable textile fiber producer, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Suzano, a Brazilian producer of eucalyptus-based paper and pulp, for a new Spinnova wood-based fiber production facility.
Suzano will own and operate the new mill, with Spinnova supplying the fiber production technology. Located near an existing Suzano pulp mill, the plant is expected to produce 20,000 tons of fiber annually.
The pre-engineering phase of the new facility is expected to commence in 2H 2024, and Suzano will be responsible for securing the necessary financing for the new facility.
