Zendesk acquires service automation platform Ultimate for undisclosed sum

M&A

  • Zendesk, a customer service platform, has acquired Ultimate, a German service automation platform, for an undisclosed amount.

  • Ultimate offers a GenAI-powered platform that enables users to automate customer support requests using AI agents. The platform can be integrated with several backend systems and provides a wide range of services, such as chat automation, ticket automation, request resolution, and reporting and analytical tools. The company claims users can automate up to 80% of support requests.

  • The deal, expected to close in March, enables Zendesk to advance its AI capabilities by integrating Ultimate's agent technology into its platform. The company also stated that around 140 Ultimate employees will be joining its team.
