Autonomo raises GBP 2 million in seed funding to expand into UK

Funding

  • Autonomo, a Germany-based developer of computer vision-powered self-checkout solutions, has raised GBP 2 million (USD 2.6 million) in a seed funding round led by Potter Ventures in collaboration with River Capital. The funding round extends Autonomo's total funding to around GBP 3.8 million (USD 4.8 million).

  • The company plans to utilize the funds to introduce Autonomo's cashierless solutions to the UK.

  • Autonomo's technology enables customers to enter a store using a mobile app, pick up their purchases, and exit the store to complete the purchase. It automatically tracks the items picked up by customers using cameras and AI. The technology is currently deployed in Germany across various retail spaces like fuel stations and convenience stores.
