Poseidona raises EUR 1.1 million in pre-seed funding for R&D and commercialization efforts

Funding

  • Poseidona, a Spanish Food ech startup, has raised EUR 1.1 million (~USD 1.2 million) in pre-seed funding led by Faber, with participation from Dozen Investments, Sprout & About, Proveg International, and WA4STEAM.

  • The funding will be used to expedite R&D and commercialize its protein ingredients.

  • Poseidona, founded in 2022, employs algal sidestreams and invasive seaweeds to generate sustainable protein alternatives. It currently focuses on side streams from "gellifier" production and plans on integrating Rugulopterix Okamurae, an invasive Mediterranean seaweed, into its production process.
