Mill Industries launches new version of kitchen bin

Product updates

  • Mill Industries, a California-based company aiming to convert food waste into chicken feed on a subscription basis, has announced the launch of an updated version of its kitchen bin.

  • The updated version of the bin can grind food waste into compost resembling coffee grounds in 2.5 hours in contrast to its predecessor’s 10-hour processing time. The new bin can process 40 lbs of waste before needing to be emptied, and the company claims it is more energy efficient.

  • In February 2023 , Mill Industries released the first version of its bins for a USD 33 monthly subscription fee. Customers can buy the new version outright for USD 999 or opt for a USD 29 monthly subscription. In February 2024, Mill also secured a license from the Washington State Department, which enables it to process the food waste grounds made by its bins into chicken feed.
