Adyen expands partnership with Cleeng to increase product reach in MENA region

Partnerships

  • Netherlands-based Adyen, a payment infrastructure provider, has expanded its partnership with Netherlands-based Cleeng, a subscriber retention management (SRM) platform, to enter the United Arab Emirates and grow its product reach within the media and entertainment sector in the MENA region.

  • Adyen and Cleeng expanded their partnership to enhance payment processing and address revenue loss due to expired card details and payment data security within the media and entertainment sector in the MENA region. Cleeng plans to use Adyen's real-time account updater, network token optimization, and revenue protection to ensure uninterrupted service, secure transactions, and fraud mitigation.

  • The expansion into the MENA region is driven by client demand, specifically from TOD, a subsidiary of BeIn Media Group.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Adyen has been expanding its geographic reach recently. This includes expanding its presence in Europe through recent partnerships with flexible payment providers like Sweden-based Klarna (three months ago; to be the acquiring bank for Klarna in Europe, North America, and Asia from 2024) and Germany-based Billie (last month; to enable flexible payment methods for businesses across Europe via Adyen's platform).
