Materialise introduces three materials to expand AM portfolio; partners with Renishaw

Product updates

  • Materialise, a provider of 3D printing software and services, has introduced polyamide 12S, polyamide 11 for HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF), and polyamide (PA-CF) for fused deposition modeling (FDM) into its additive manufacturing material portfolio.

  • PA-CF, constructed with a thermoplastic filament reinforced with 35% carbon fiber, will be suitable for heavier metal components. PA 11, due to its reported biocompatibility, durability, and flexibility, will be suitable for medical technological applications. Finally, PA 12S can be used for volume prototyping and production.

  • Additionally, Materialise also partnered with Renishaw, a manufacturing systems and software provider, to increase the productivity of the latter’s AM machines.

  • The partnership will enable Materialise to integrate its build processor with Renishaw’s RenAM 500 series of metal AM machines. Moreover, the company will also offer Renishaw’s users access to Magics and its data and build preparation software.
