Stability AI, a developer of Stable Diffusion text-to-image AI, has announced the layoff of 20 members (~10%) of its workforce.
The layoff is a part of the strategic plan to reduce costs, increase investor and partner relations, and promote the development and release of products.
Analyst QuickTake: This news comes amid a period of instability for the company, as its CEO and founder, Emad Mostaque, resigned from his role and the company's board last month, along with other key personnel. However, the company has been expanding its product portfolio as it launched several models recently, including Stable LM 2 12B in April, Stable Video 3D in March, and Stable Diffusion 3 , which was made available on the Stability AI developer platform API this month.
