Kern Tec, an Austrian alternative dairy producer, has partnered with German ham and sausage producer Berger-Schinken to create a plant-based cheese sausage, leveraging pea protein and upcycled fruit pits.
Through this partnership, the companies aim to offer innovative and sustainable food options to cater to growing demand for plant-based food options. The vegan sausages are made from a unique recipe and contain cheese made from upcycled fruit pits.
Analyst QuickTake: This marks Kern Tec’s first partnership to develop a meat-based product. The company previously partnered with German dairy company Bauer and Swiss supermarket group Coop to develop dairy alternatives.
