Deep Sky, a Canadian carbon removal project developer, and Carbfix, an Icelandic carbon sequestration company, have teamed up to explore potential CO2 mineral storage options in Canada.
The collaboration includes a pre-feasibility study of potential mineral CO2 storage reservoirs in Quebec, including the analysis of geological and geochemical data of the area and laboratory work on ultramafic rock formations.
The partnership aims to evaluate the ability of these formations to safely and permanently store CO2 by turning it into stone underground. Deep Sky will lead project development to build large-scale carbon removal and storage infrastructure in Canada.
