Carbon Clean, a UK-based provider of modularized carbon capture solutions, has announced the installation of carbon capture units at Ørsted's "FlagshipONE," the largest e-methanol project in Europe.
The installation of the carbon capture units marks the beginning of the assembly process. Once operational, Carbon Clean's CaptureX technology will capture 70,000 tons of biogenic CO2 annually for Ørsted’s Swedish facility.
The project is expected to be operational by 2025, producing up to 55,000 tons of methanol per year for use in ships, reducing carbon emissions by 94%.
Analyst QuickTake: In February 2023 , the company was awarded the carbon capture equipment contract for Ørsted’s FlagshipONE e-methanol project in Sweden, marking Carbon Clean’s 50th commercial project.
