Rivian, a developer of battery EVs, is laying off 92 employees across several facilities in Orange County as a part of a cost-cutting effort.
The layoffs were driven by a need to adjust to declining sales and keep the company cost-effective. The company aims to align its prioritized operations and become gross margin-positive by the end of the year. Most of the positions being terminated are in support.
This layoff follows the layoff of 191 salaried employees in the county two months ago.
