Gatik, an autonomous truck developer for middle-mile delivery, has received USD 30 million from Japanese automaker Isuzu Motors and partnered with the same.
The company plans to enhance its North American autonomous driving business and co-design a new redundant chassis for autonomous driving systems.
Meanwhile, Isuzu, in partnership with Gatik, also intends to launch a Level 4 autonomous commercial vehicle business for middle-mile deliveries by 2027 (i.e., fully autonomous vehicles limited to specific locations or conditions).
