Spiritus partners with Aramco to improve DAC technology in Saudi Arabia

Partnerships

  • Spiritus, a direct air capture (DAC) startup has signed an MoU with Aramco, a global energy company. The company also received an equity investment from Aramco Ventures in November 2023.

  • The collaboration aims to enhance Spiritus' unique sorbent technology for DAC and pilot its implementation in Saudi Arabia.

  • Spiritus' novel DAC process is designed to overcome existing cost barriers and increase efficiency by 10x over traditional methods. The technology has the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions from hard-to-abate sectors globally, particularly in the Middle East.
