VRelax, a Dutch provider of VR solutions for mental health, has raised EUR 1.2 million (~USD 1.3 million) in a venture round led by Healthy.Capital, with participation from Knop Ventures and CCO Sander Paul van Tongeren.
The funds were earmarked to augment the company's growth in its domestic market while facilitating global expansion. They will also be used to expand VRelax’s sales and customer success teams.
VRelax uses scientifically validated techniques in VR environments for individuals struggling with mental health issues (stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression) and physical ailments. The virtual environments offer interactions and exercises to provide distraction and relaxation to the participants. The company stated that its platform is used by over 200 enterprises within the healthcare space.
Analyst QuickTake: Novobeing is another VR mental health startup that raised funding recently , with prominent meditation app Headspace also launching a dedicated XR platform. Additionally, VRelax noted that it was focused on making its application available to consumers at an affordable price point and adding stress measurement features (via biofeedback).
