Peruvian Veef, a Peruvian producer of plant-based meat substitutes, has raised USD 320,000 in pre-seed funding, consisting of USD 280,000 from the Ahimsa Foundation and Sustainable Food Ventures and a USD 40,000 non-dilutive grant from ProInnovate Peru.
The funds will be used to expand its foodservice and retail presence in Peru and other Latin American markets, including Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.
Peruvian Veef, founded in 2020, offers a range of vegan products inspired by Latin American cuisine, including burgers, skewers, and a plant-based version of the traditional Peruvian anticuchos. The company has a significant presence in Peru, with its products available in over 70 stores, and aims to become Peru's top alternative protein provider by 2024.
