VR game developer Sinn Studio raised USD 2.5 million in a funding round led by Hartmann Capital, with participation from Boost VC, Republic, Alumni Ventures, and Mana Ventures, among others.
Funds were earmarked to develop the first “real-time PvP VR combat game.” The game will use the company's proprietary "Combat Engine" and use a neural network "specially designed to discern and learn from the intricate subtleties of human motion during combat."
Canada-based Sinn Studio is the developer of Swordsman, a VR sword-fighting game launched in 2022, with over 1,300 ratings on the Quest Store. A release date for its upcoming game remained undisclosed.
Analyst QuickTake: The round follows Hartmann Capital’s investment into Flat2VR Studios, a company porting notable flatscreen titles into PC VR headsets. Additionally, Japan-based Thirdverse raised USD 3.3 million in March 2024 to develop its X8 and Soul Covenant VR game titles.
