Symbio, a zero-emission hydrogen mobility company, has unveiled a regional-haul class 8 hydrogen fuel-cell truck under the company's “H2 Central Valley Express project,” an initiative to develop zero-emission solutions for regional-haul trucking operations.
The truck features a Freightliner Cascadia class 8 tractor and a heavy-duty, long-haul, truck-ready fuel-cell powertrain developed by Symbio. It is powered by a 400 kW StackPack fuel-cell system and a 70 kg hydrogen tank and has the capacity to travel 450 mi per fueling event. Additionally, the truck utilizes Michelin's low-rolling-resistance tires, designed for EV-specific uses.
