Lacework, the data-driven cloud security company, has announced Lacework Edge, a new security service Edge (SSE) platform expanding its code to cloud security experience into the network Edge.

A proxy-based, cloud-native product, Lacework Edge leverages real-time contextual data to make continuous risk-based decisions, providing end-to-end zero-trust connectivity.

Analyst QuickTake: SSE is a component technology of the broader networking and security architecture, secure access service edge (SASE), which has seen a fair amount of growth in terms of cybersecurity product launches recently. These include a new SASE for mid-sized businesses from Netskope launched in January 2024 and a SASE-based XDR launched by Cato Networks in the same month.
