QIAGEN has launched the QIAseq Multimodal DNA/RNA Lib Kit to aid in the preparation of DNA and RNA libraries for next-gen sequencing (NGS), such as whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and whole-transcriptome sequencing (WTS).
The product is claimed to facilitate the study of multiple omic fields, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, and offers a streamlined layout that allows the generation of WGS and WTS libraries by combining chemistry optimized for DNA and RNA simultaneously from a single sample. The company claims that this product is the first to be compatible with a wide range of input samples, including blood, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples, and cell-free DNA (cfDNA).
The DNA and RNA libraries generated are directly compatible with sequencing platforms such as Illumina instruments and Element Aviti and other sequencers such as Complete Genomics/MGI, Singular Genomics, and Ultima Genomics, with an additional sequencing step. The product can also generate DNA- or RNA-only libraries separately.
