Bayer partners with G+FLAS and Pairwise to advance gene editing in vegetables

Partnerships

  • Bayer, a leading AgTech company, has partnered with South Korean biotech firm G+FLAS and Pairwise, an AgTech specializing in genetics-based food and agriculture solutions, to create genome-edited tomato varieties and develop nutritionally-enhanced, genome-edited mustard, respectively.

  • With this partnership, G+FLAS will focus on creating genome-edited tomato varieties enriched with Vitamin D3 using G+FLAS's genome-editing technology and Bayer's proprietary tomato germplasm, while Pairwise will develop and commercialize genome-edited nutritious mustard greens. With these partnerships, Bayer expects to strengthen its innovation strategies in the genome editing of fruits and vegetables while addressing nutritional problems.
