Aldi Ireland has initiated the installation of self-checkout kiosks at 21 of its shops nationwide, following the success of the technology at its County Kildare location.
The kiosks enable customers to pay through cash, card, or contactless transactions. Aldi will continue to offer traditional staffed checkout lanes alongside the self-checkout kiosks.
The trials are underway at several Dublin locations, including Sallynoggin, Newlands Cross, and Coolock. Within the next couple of months, the technology will be deployed at 16 locations in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Kerry, Cavan, and Clare.
