ABB introduces OmniCore, an advanced robotics automation control platform

Product updates

  • ABB Robotics has announced the launch of OmniCore, an advanced robotics automation platform that enables users to create robotic automation applications.

  • The platform features a modular control architecture that allows complete integration of sensor, AI, cloud, and edge computing systems as well as over 1,000 hardware and software features. Additionally, the company claims that the platform offers robot path accuracy of less than 0.6mm, a speed capacity of up to 1,600mm per second, and an energy-saving mechanism, consuming 20% less energy than the previous controller.

  • Notably, the company stated that this was the result of a USD 170 million investment it made last year in its US manufacturing operations.
