FibreTrace is partnering with Target Corp. and Cargill to develop real-time verification for US and Brazilian cotton. The collaboration involves using luminescent pigments for easy tracking and identification across the supply chain.

This tracking system will be established by incorporating luminescent pigments into raw cotton during the initial processing stage, creating a distinguishable marking. This specific pigment marking can then be tracked throughout the global supply chain, allowing Target Corp. to verify the cotton's origin in real time, aligning with its sustainability goals. The first year after marking US cotton in November 2023, it aims to mark 50,000 metric tons of US and Brazilian raw cotton.
