UK-based quantum hardware company ORCA Computing is supplying Montana State University (MSU) with two PT-1 quantum photonics systems to advance distributed quantum computing. The partnership is sponsored by the US Air Force as part of a USD 115 million Applied Quantum Core grant.
The systems will be installed on the MSU Innovation Campus and aim to bring advanced quantum technology applications in areas like security, communication sensing, and computing from the testing stages to the market.
The collaboration will enhance MSU's quantum technology development capabilities and accelerate real-world deployment. The partnership also indicates a continued trend of ORCA's system deployments to high-profile clients, including the UK Ministry of Defence and the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.
