Canadian quantum annealing developer D-Wave and energy company Aramco have extended their partnership to manage complex geophysical optimization problems using quantum technologies.
The Aramco Research Center in the Netherlands has been using D-Wave's quantum technologies for the past two years to tackle challenging optimization problems in seismic imaging. The goal is to process massive amounts of seismic data to create detailed subsurface maps, a significant advancement in their research. Such quantum technologies offer performance benefits over traditional computing in speed and scale. The extended collaboration will focus on the additional use of D-Wave's Advantage2 system.
