Synhelion and Pilatus Aircraft partner to scale up solar fuels

Partnerships

  • Synhelion, a Swiss solar-to-fuels startup, and Pilatus Aircraft, a Swiss-based aircraft manufacturer, have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the use of solar fuels in the aviation industry.

  • As part of the collaboration, Pilatus plans to use Synhelion’s solar fuels in its operations and offer them to its customers in the future. As part of this initiative, Pilatus has become a shareholder in Synhelion.

  • Synhelion is industrializing its technology for the production of sustainable, synthetic fuels. The company is developing an industrial demonstration called “DAWN” in Jülich, Germany, to produce solar fuels. The goal is to roll out these sustainable solar fuels to Pilatus' entire customer fleet within the next decade.
