GeneDx, in collaboration with Epic, announced the expansion of its rapid whole-genome sequencing (rWGS) services to neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). The partnership aims to improve patient outcomes by reducing the time between diagnosis and treatment.
The integration with Epic aims to enhance product access by connecting with health systems currently in Epic’s EHR to receive orders and send results. By leveraging GeneDx’s genomic database in rare diseases—which is claimed to be the largest in the world—patients can obtain rWGS results integrated into a single comprehensive medical record, assisting healthcare providers in delivering better patient care.
