Eastman, a specialty chemical and recycling company, has announced the integration of its bio-based recycled fiber Naia Renew into denim fabrics, working alongside its global brand partners who have begun integrating the fiber in their products.
Naia Renew is a cellulosic acetate fiber made from 60% sustainably sourced wood pulp and 40% certified recycled content. The company claims it can blend well with natural fibers, other man-made cellulosic fibers, and multiple-content yarns, making it suitable as an ingredient for denim.
Analyst QuickTake: The company launched Naia Renew in April 2021 , leveraging its carbon renewal technology (CRT). The company partners with textile and fashion brands such as Patagonia and, in April 2024 , added reverse textile logistics platform Debrand as a sourcing partner for textile waste that feeds into Naia Renew.
